; AN APPEAL TO THE' PRIME . '■ ■/ MINISTER. ■ ■ ■ ; ' Last week, it was reported that .the wholesale meat dealers had decided on a 10 per cent, increase in the price of beef, and that the retailer butchers would have to pass this on to the consumer. It is now stated that a circular was sent to the master butchers on Saturday, from the wholesale dealer?, in which the price of meat was increased'on different lines from 10 per cent, to 25 per cent. In another columu, the master butchers of "Wellington advertise the scale of prices to be charged from to-day. On Saturday night, in tho Employers' Association rooms, the Wellington master butchers held a largely-attended meeting; A proposal was put forward, and unanimously carried,; that a deputation, should wait upon the Prime Minister (the_ Right Hon. W. F. Massey), ■to ask him if he could see his way clear to help the master butchers- over the present crisis in the meat' question, caused by the rapid advance of tho wholesale- prices. '-.
