Dinner Party, at the Chiness Consulate. . On Wednesday evening a tlimier party ivas given by Air. and Mrs. C. Kwei and their son, Ming-sin iCwei, at the Chinese Consulate, in honour of Mr. F. L. Loll. a. brilliant young missionary .who liad been engaged by the Anglican Church as co-worker ' with Daniel Wong in ,tho * Chinese ' Church in Frederick Street, and who had recently arrived from China. The guests included Mr. Y. H. Jackson, secretary of the Consulate, the leading members of the Chinese community, andtho i Chinese, students of this city. The largo drawing-room was artistically decorated with flowers, also 1 the diningroom and table. Every, kind of amusement was provided by tlie hosts. One of the most interesting was the selfmoving gramaplione, propelled by electric motor. The guests were also invited to experiment on or touch a live wire through the leaves of a floWer in a vaso which was connected/by a wireless electric coil. This entertainment was given by Ming-sin Kwei, a young lad, who is very keen in electrical experiments, and" who is a member of (he Model Aeroplane Association of London. It is said lie had won a prize in tlio Hendon hydro aeroplane competition by a machine of his oivn design. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lauder left for tho south last evening.
