INROADS ON THE HOSPITAL STAFF. The war has caused considerable staff rearrangement at the Wellington Public Hospital. Tho Medical Superintendent has beem authorised to communicate with the Dean of the Medical Faculty in Melbourne in reference to engaging local medical practitioners to relieve the resident house- surgeons duiv ing their absence with the Expeditionary Forces. Dr. Mathioson has been appointed resident house surgeon on- the Hospital Staff, vice Dr. Tapper' (with Expeditionary Force). The assistantdispenser, Mr. G. C. Breen,. who* has jcined the' Expeditionary Forces, lias bean granted one month's leave on full pay, and if possible arrangements will be made for keeping a post on the dispensary staff open, far him to take up on his return. Dr. Begg, honorary Burgeon at the Children's Hospital, has been granted leave of absence during liis absence from Wellington with.the Expeditionary Force, and applications will be invited for an acting-honorary Burgeon for the Children's Hospital. Sisters F. Wilson and E. 6. Brooke hare been granted one month's . leave of absence on full pay and extended leave during their absence with the New_ Zealand Forces. Positions on the nursing staff of the Wellington Hospital will be kept open for then} on'their , return.
