FOOD FOR BRITAIN
. The movement to obtain by voluntary contributions a shipload 1 of meat -and other food 1 for tho poor of Great .Britain and. Ireland was before'a mooting of thecommittee of the' Wellington branch', of the New Zealand Sports Protection Leaguo' liejd yesterday afternoon. It was decided to give the scheme the hearty support of the branch, which is making its organisation available for the purposo of facilitating and promoting the. movement within the city and surrounding district®. The other branches of the League throughout tho Dominion haie been asked to assist in a similar manner. In the meantime complete details of the scheme are to bo obtained from _ Christ-church, where the' movement originated, and where the centre of control will be situated for the present. . Donations of a very substantial'character are being promised in tho country districts and in the city. Tho secretary, Sir. R. W.
