Sent away to the Defence stores yesterday were 142 shirts, 216 pairs of socks j to the Mcdical Department were pent 12 flannel singlets, ,8 nightingales, 8 flannel singlets, 24 cholera belts, 34 bandages, 8 scarves,. 2 underpants, 2 singlets, 9 handkerchiefs, 60 towels, 41 caps, and 2 chairs. NEWS AND NOTES. Mis. Luke, Mayoress, requests thait all work that has been given out by the Ladies Committee at the Town Hall be returned there no later than noon on Wednesday. The Mayoress also thanks all tho ladies who 60 kindly volunteered tor work and hare not been supplied with material. The demand has been greater than she was able to supply. She wishes to say that nil the men from the Wellington district will be fully equipped. Mr. Bartlett is prepared to take tho photograph of any member of the Expeditionary Force HTid send one copy' froo ox charge to ■ any given addross. At a meeting of the ladies of Ofcaii, a resolution was passed thanking the Maori Brass Band for playing in aid of tie fund, and realising nearly •: £3, and to the picture proprietors for offers of entertainments. in aid of "the funds.
