' The newspaper "Fairplay" states i'nat the British have captured fci-iy-four German 6teamora and eighteen • sailers, and three Austriau steamers; the French have captured four German and two Austrian steamers; the Belgians have seized thir-ty-four German, steamers and two sailers, and two Austriari steamers; and. the Russians have captured one German steamer. According .to a h'st, compiled by W Norddeutscher : Lloyd Co.; the merchant vessels on the German register in 1913 totalled 1216, of 1,345,877 gross tonnage; and most of these vessels are liable to capture.
