'.'■ • • Miramar's Effort. ; A meeting convened by the Mayoress of Miramar (Mrs. Townseiid) was held in •.the Miramar Town Hall yesterday aftornooii for the purpose of furthering Her Excellency thfc Countess of Liverpool's suggestions of ■ providing necessaries for , thoso 'volunteering- for military service It was decided not to form themselves into a general working bee, but to obtain their work from the central depot (the Town Hall, in Wellington), and take it to their own homes to work at. A supply of cut-out garments, etc., had already been obtained, and these were distributed at' the end of the meeting. The greatest enthusiasm was taken in the matter, and there will be no lack of willing .helpers either in Miramar and its surrounding district, or Karaka Bay arid Seatoun. / •• Donations.
