' (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANGER OF PLAYING WITH FIRE' ARMS. ONE BOY KILLS ANOTHER. Dannevirke, August 11. '. At tlio innucst regarding the death of the youth Frank Englebretsen, the «vi. dence 1 showed that tho four lads went shooting in the bush at Terehunga,' and then decided to play at "bushrangers." While doing-so one named Marshall shot' at Englebretsen"at a distance of a few yards with- a small shot gnu, with fatal' results. A verdict, was returned that death had been caused by a shot fired by Marshall. Tho Coroner expressed a hope that this worild be a warning to those who were in the habit of playing \vith firearms. A TRAGIC MISTAKE. . Greymouth,. August 11. A sad fatality occurred here shortly after six o'clock to-nieht. 'A married' man, A. Larson, aged 85, went into the . scullery of his house to get a bottle_ of stout to give his father-in-law, Mr,. Clancy, a- drink. Tn the dark he took a brittle of. Isheep din in mistake. Both drank a glassful, and Larsen died in an hour; Clancy is in tho hospital, and hi* condition is serious. A man named Michael Halloran, on employee at the PeVone Workshops,, was admitted to the Haipital yesterday suffering from a broke'.! leg. _ The accident was caused through-slipping on a foot-' plate while engaged J t work.
