Golden Water sprinted three furlongs, and Trilby rattled over five furlongs. in lmin. 4 2-ssec., Silver Monarch, The Chief; and Jackman jumped the big country, the lastnamed giving the best display, while .Royal Arms defeated Crown Pearl over six furbngs in lmin. 18 Msec. , Twelfth Night and Bee got to the end of five furlongs in lmin. 8 2-fcec., and Royal Medal went onoe round over the big fences in pleasing style. , The Spaniard, with sweaters on, did strong .work, and Grand Idea and Haumakaka, defeated Gazette over half a mile in 512-sseo. Haakayne easily defeated Banian over five furlongs in lmin. sseo., and Leading Lady was in front of Bon at the end of half a mile, run in 62 2-ssec. Gnome did strong work on the grass, and Admiral Soult beat Riiatangata over a mile in. lmin. 48 3-ssec. 1 • Andraea and Daylight Bill galloped five furlongs in lmin. 4sec., the former showing to most advantage, and Cousin Jack went a mile and a quarter in 2min, ?3 3-sseo.
