The spectators grew interested. The vexed guardian of the law appealed to them—tliey were only too willing. No sooner, however, did' the threo young soldiers lay hands on the obstreperous one than retribution came swift and terribla on the wordv individual who had failed to respond to the call of the law. The policeman turned round and seized him. He endeavoured to emnlato the baccliic-one's resistance but failed—miserably. An interesting procession of sis wended 1 their, way to the 1 police station.
