CREWS FOR THE TROOP SHIPS
. R.N.R, MEN' OFFERING-. ' In regard to the. transport of the efc- • peditionary force, the Minister of Defence .expressed a hope that the shipping com-' panies whose vessels may be employed for this purpose will give the meimbers of the crews the option of deciding whether they ? will, remain on their ships or not. Mr. Allen states that he is authoritatively informed that there are plenty of naval reserve men and volunteers who are anxious to man the vessels and take the place of any of the present men who do not wish • to go. There is no desire to prevont tho present crews from going, all that is desired is to give them tho option. The Minister of Defence states that the nret 'section of the expeditionary force, which will form tho'advance guard of tho force, will be dispatched at tho earliest possible date from Wellington. The men for tho main force will start training «s soon as selected in ,the fcjnr .chief centres.
