I. TJBGENT MEASURES DEALT WITH. Tho House of Representatives met on Saturday to deal with matters of urgency arising out of the state of war now existing. The Government introduced two Bills, one providing for a limited moratorium, and the other for the regulation of trade and. commerce. Both Bills were introduced, explained, and read a first timo, and in order that members might have on opportunity of studying them, the House adjourned until the evening, when the Bills were passed through all stages. Tho Legislative Counoil will meet at It o'clock this morning to pass the two Bills.. The Legislative Council Bill, 1914, was •eceived from the Legislative Council and read a first time. Befor<j the House ipse the Prima Minister, at the request of His Excellency the Governor, read a brief summary that had been telegraphed to His Excellency, of Mr. Asquith's speech on the occasion when he asked; Parliament for a. war 'credit .of .£100,000,000, and called for an additional 500.000 troops, from Britain. Tho summary differed scarcely, at all .from « the reports of the speech cabled by the Press Association; In accordance with custom, the speech was entered in the journals of the House. The House'rose at 9.20 p.m., to sit again at 2.30, to-day.. . •
