ASSOCIATION
1 'K meeting of the New Zealand Referees' Association was held last evening for the. purpose of appointing referees for Brown Shield matches. For the match, Wangamii (challengers)' v. Canterbury, to be played on August 8, Mr. TrbuD, of Dunedin, was appointed referee. Provided Canterbury etill holds the. shield after their match against Wanganui they will have to withstand a challenge from. Otago on August 22. For this match Mr. R. S. Lithgow, of Wellington, has been appointed referee.
