SHORTAGE OF TRUCKS
ANXiETY OF THE FARMERS. Farmers have cbinplained for, years that tho. shortage , of railway truck's is detrimental to the producers,' and at this week's A. <fe P. Societies' Conference the following motions were carried :—
"(1) That the Railway Department shpuld be asked to provide more insulated trucks for the conveyance of daifv prodiic6 to the port of .shipment. , ' "(2) That the shortage of; trucks for stock again, brought under the notice of the Department." ...It''was stated that the General ■Manager for Railways (Mr. E. H. Hiley) had been interviewed on the subject, and that the men on the land ■were forward to the presentation of his report (expected shortly) with very keen interest. Mr. H, R. Bunriy, (Carterton) romarked that the. Railway Department deserved thanks for so much as- they had already don© in theeej matters.
