LIBERAL CANDIDATE SELECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Eltham, July 30. At a representative meeting: of .delegates' of the Egmont Liberal Leagiie iield at Kaponga .vosterday Mr. D. L.' A'. Astbury was selected as the 'Liberal oandidate for 'tho forthcoming general election. The proceedings, were very enthusiastic, and generous offers' 1 of support were forthcoming from all parts of tlie electorate. At the- close Mr, Astbury deliverod an address touching upon the leading questions of .the day, and was warmly applauded.
