It -was resolved -to approve of Section .27, Block VIII, Matotuku, 91 acres 2 roods 32 perches, and Section 16, Block V, Karioi, 100 acres 0 roods 5 perches, being offered as separate lots under Part 111 of the Land Act, 1908, at JB4 per acre. Section 16 to be weighted with £50 10s. for improvements. Classified as fivst-class land as provided by Section 125 of the Act. Mr. and Mrs. James Cooper, lessees of Pahaoa 3 B 2, G4GJ acres, applied for a road or right-of-way through Section 16, Block XVI, Huangarna—Postponed consideration ■ until the ranger's report is received. A. Peters applied for permission to plough and cultivate portion of Waiouru Township Eeserve leased by him, and it was resolved to grant him permission to do so without competition, provided ho follows the proper rotation of cropping, viz., two grain, ono root crop, then grass for three years. To be allowed to fence with tho right of removal or to receive compensation therefor. Cameron applied for a lease ot the unsold sections 7.20 ICohanga \illage, 3 acres 3 roods 29 perches, and it was resolved to allow him to occupy them on a temporary permit from year .to year, at «. rent of <81 12s. per anuum, subject

to usual conditions and determination at any time. E. B. Hoss applied to lease a portion °f Crown land adjoining Mangatiinoka, 1 Be., No. 2a—Deferred for a report'from tho ranger. It was resolved to approve of Section 2, Block XIV, Rewa, 10 acres, being offered by public auction under Section 132 of the Lund Act, 1308, as land of special valuo (owing to improvements thereon) at an upset price of A'ss, weighted with J>l6s for. improvements, classified as first-class land, under the provisions of Section 125 of the Act. Tho Commissioner submitted tho ranger's report with regard to tho grouping of unsold sections in Hangaweka North, and resolved to approve generally of the proposals and to direct the Commissioner to inquire into the possibility of carrying out the suggestions, and to report, if possible, to tho next meetine. Sir. James Leo's solicitors, having advised that it is;not intended to retain the tenancy of Section 5, Block V, Omahine, 10 acres, it was resolved to forfeit his interest. . It was resolved to forfeit F. Gibson's interest in tenancy of Section 94, Block XIV; Ohinewairua, 1 rood 27 perches, and offer the lease to W. Boyd at a rental of *81 10a. per annum, subject to usual conditions and to determination at any time. Mr. Patchett, a Masterton County Councillor, asked that part. Section 5, Block 111, Puketoi, l)o reserved as a site for roadman's cottage,, and.it was resolved to deoline, as the granting of the application would injuriously affect the frontage. Accrued Thirds. Tho following local bodies forwarded proposals for tho expenditure of accrued thirds, which were approved subject to investigation by the Tanger,. and so far as the amounts aro still available:—Wairarapa South County Council, .£2l. 17s. Id.; Petone Borough Council, <£12 9s. 2d.; Raetihi Town Board, £7 Os. Id.; Mauriceville County Council, £i 16s. sd. It was resolved to determine H. Crowhurst's permit to occupy about 2£ acres of . Crown land " north-east of Eaurimi Spiral, between railway fence and Waimarino Eoad, as from August 31 next. With regard to the occupation of Section 3, Block XIV, Levin Township, 1 rood, by W. Owen, whose tenancy expired on the 30th ultimo, it was resolved to inform him that the board declines to renew the license for any period. The following improved farm settlers applied for advancos, and it was resolved to recommend that the amounts sst out should be advanced to them: D. G. Commissioner submitted a statement showing the position of Section G, Block XII, Sections 10 and 11, Block XVI, Ruangarua, comprising a total area of. 1360 acres, parts of the Longbush, Tablelands, ana Hikawera Settlements, a present leased to the trustees of the late P. M'Laren, and it was resolved to approve of a proposal that the trustees be allowed to surrender; their interest in sublease of Section G, Block XII, Huangarua, to. take effect about February 1, 1915, provided they are allowed : to re main in occupation, of the other lots occupied by them up to that date at the present rentals. ; , . With reference to Section 24, Block IV, Mangahao, formerly held by T. T. Fawekner, whose Interest had been forfeited for non-execution of license, . the late selector appeared before the board and osked that the land be restored to him. —It was resolved to ask the Under-Sec-retary to take steps to • reinstate Mr. Faweknor in possession if it is possible to do so. , Mr. Mickleson interviewed the board and objected, on belialf of himself and other settlers, to' a deviation of Whaka Road beinp taken through Sections 2 and 28. Block IV, Tiriraukawa. It was resolved to instruct the Commissioner to telegraph to the County Council objecting, on behalf of the Crown, to the proposal. ' The board approved of C. J. and F. G. Chesham being admitted to the ballot for S.G.R. 18, Block VIII, Momohaki. Tho follgvring were permitted to convert their occupation with right of purchase licenses to freehold, and it was resolved to approve:—G. H. Gillam, Section 23, Block 11, Mount Cerberus, 19S acres; and M. J. Gillam, Section 7 and Part 6, Block I, Mount Cerberus, ■ 350 acres 0 roods 25 porches.
