: Professor Mackenzie, secretary of the Schools' .Defence League, writes contradicting certain statements in an article published as an advertisement in oiir columns as to the attitude of his league towards the Bible. Wo cannot undertake to open our columns to correspondence rolating to advertisement matter, hut it is only fair to stato that tho Defence League is not opposed to a purely voluntary system of Bible lessons in schools (supplementary of tbo existing national secular system), provided that tliero is no compulsion of any kind.
