KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL
— *- _.. ■ At last night's meeting of the Karori ■■■BorouKh Council, there were present • xhe Mayor (Mr WT. Hildreth), and Gotfimillors B. H. Burn, W. Bradnock, h. P. Davies, C. Cimino, J. W. Henderson IV R. Boyes, AV. Skcgg, and P C. Jordan. In response to an inquiry'by the council, the_City. Electrical Engineer (Mr. tstuart Richardson) wrote, stating that the cosfjpf removing a streot lamp (No.' y-1) to the corner of Briggs and Marshall Streets would bo £7.—lt was decided that authority ■ should be givon torjihe removal of the lamp. The Post and Telegraph Department advised that owing to short stock of slot telephones,- the council's request for a slot telephone near the cemetery' could not bo considered at the present time. • Regarding' the Sunday morning tram service, the secretary of the -Tramway tfoard of Management wrote as follows*' •In reply to your letter of July 16 requesting that the time -of departure of. the Sunday, morning car from " the council chambers be altered to 10 a.m. I am directed to inform you that this matter will be 'considered" whet the ■board is- reconsidering a further issue ot the .time-table, which is liicely.to bo altered at the beginning of the summer months." The letter was received.- _ Instructions were given to the Works Committee to make inquiries as to the possibility of installing telephones on a private wire between the council chambers and Karori Park.
