Loan proposals .are to be discussed at a special meeting of the City Council, to he held on Thursday next. The time' available at last night's meeting was not sufficient to'consider the list brought down by tho Finance Committee, which reported its consideration of the various items submitted by tho different committees for • inclusion in the loan schedule to be submitted to the ratepayers,, and recommended the following schedule for the approval of- the council: — £ Tramways 97,000 Milk supply (depot) ............ 15,000 Outlying roads and streets 10,000 Fire Brigade 18,000 Woodblocking streets 62,000 Office accommodation ............ 7,500 Oriental Bay sea wall 10,000 Island Bay improvements 2,300 New road to Brooklyn 3,500 Vogeltown road 11,500 Roseneath road 13,500 ■ikntral Park 13,000 Lyall Bay bath .house 3,000 Bath house, Island Bay 1,000 Kilbirnie bath?. 750 Brooklyn baths 800 £272,350 ■Or, in round figures, say £273,000. 'the Tramways Committee recommended "That the tramway loan proposals previously submitted by this committee to the council, and referred back, be approved," but tliis recommendation was also held over until tho general discussion at next Thursday's meeting. 1
