Charitable Aid Board,, the Hospital Committee, which has had the matter of the establishment of a dental branch in connection ivith the out-patients' department lof the general Hospital, recommended that the proposed dental branch of the outpatients' department- should be established forthwith.- A qualified operativejind mechanical dental surgeon (registered), who will undertake to do all the necessary mechanical work, bo appointed at a salary to commence at £300 per annum, the surgeon to be under the control of the Medical Superintendent, to whom he must refer all professional matters of doubt. It was further suggested that the honorary; dental, staff comprising not less than 20 members should be recommended from time to time bv the. Wellington Branch of the Dental Association, for appointment by the board, and that all patients for treatment must present to the secretary a recommendation fronra registered .denial surgeon, or from tlio Medical Superintendent.

.The committee recommended that the of fees be as follow:—

Consultation, 2s. 6d.; extraction local anaesthetic, Is.amalgam fillings, 2s. 6d. to 3s. Gd.'; cement fillings, 2s. 6d.; gas extractions, 2s. 6d.; visits ill connection with abscess cases, etc., 2s'. 6d.; continuous gas or heavy anaesthetic, 10s. 6d.; vulcanite work, first tooth, 7s. 6d.; every additional tooth, 2s!full upper or lower vulcanite dentures, £2 2s. each. ... .
