WELLINGTON DISTRICT BRANCH: - The forty-frrsb annual report of the Wellington Distriot Institute, N.Z.E.1., to bo presented at tho annual meeting of the.institute to be held in the Education Board buildings on Friday, July 31. statos that the present roll of the district institute is 417, an increase of eighty for the year; The balance-sheet shows a credit balance of over £50, which is considered very satisfactory. The committee is of' the opinion that with a- larger revonuo, obtainable by increased subscriptions only, considerable benefits could be .conferred on members. Tho committee further recommends that an effort be made to secure a suitable room for meetings, and that a teacher's reference library should be established. The report of the Wairarapa subbranch stated that the increase of membership deserves special notice. The financial year, 1913, commenced with a roll of 05 members; the, financial year, 15)14. will commence with 142 members nn the roll. .Of 43 are new members and 34 have bepn gained bv transfer. ;."
