Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchell TJdy, relict of the Into-Mr. Johu Udy, died at her residence, South Carterton, on Monday morning. Deceased was 75 years of age, and had been feeble for some time past, and a fortnight ago suffered a stroko,. from which enV never rallied. Her husband predeceased her some years ago. Deceased leaves two sous and four daughters. Mr. A. Clarke, of South Featherston, was on Saturday granted leave of absence at the committee meetings of the Wairarapa P. and A; Society, on account of his approaching departure on a trin to the Old Country. During the progress .of n, football match horo on Saturday afternoon, a Carterton player, named' C. Grnubo. received a iiasty cut under his chin, which necessitated threo stitches . being inserted. /
