The council of tho Milking Shorthorn Association at a meeting on Thursday decided to notify the judges that no crossbred females would be accepted for the Herd Book which the association is now The advanced regis : I ter will bo confined to those animals which have passed the semi-official test according to age. The various agricultural associations will be asked to provide classes for milking Shorthorns at. shows.. Entries liave been received for the Herd Book totalling 300, and the judges will now proceed with their inspection. The membership totals dO. Numerous letters have been from all parts of the Dominion congratulating'and encouraging the association in .respect of its initiation of a. Shorthorn Herd Book for the milking strain. A meeting of .the Ground Committee of the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society was held on iFriday afternoon. Mr. C. Morgan presiding. Tho committee endorsed the reconimon-. dation of the horse , stewards that ninety hew horse-stalls be erected. '•' The chairman was authorised to procure the required timber for , new buildings to be erected on the showgrounds. Why is it that, home separation is becoming more popular with tho farmers?
