Steeplechase. In those races he,had carried the .colour* of Mr. T, Bowling, but later he passed ; into the, ownership : bf; Mr. W. R. Tuck. He ran. unplaced in-:the : Wanganui Steeplechase of 1913; and two months later filled second place behind Captain ■'■Jinglo in tho .'Wellington. Steeplechase at Trenthain. Since then he had been ; ;in.retirement until' the present 'winter. Ho- was undoubtedly: a fine stamp, of :'.'chaser,; and a great jumper , but he ; scarcely ever went >tb the- post in anything like, racing, condition, and was' always more or less.;lame. .His condition and lameness wero as a matter of :■ fact the subject of frequent comment ■ 00 the training tracks' prior to his 'racing at Trentham in : 1912;.:
