The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, agents for the Eruptite Explosive Co., report having held a very successful trial of this powerful explosive on Mr. 0. P. Lynck's farm at Paekakariki on Monday last. The eiplosive was used to remove heavy timber and stumps met with in the draining of the Raumnti Swamp, and its lifting power was amply demonstrated to tho ■ large number of representative farmers present. At tho Sailors' Friend Society Institute last evening, Itesdames Dunn and Wildermoth provided an enjoyable concert. The following contributed items;—Misfps Eobinson, Fairclousih. Messrs.
