Hunt appeared for the accused, and asked for a remand for a week. He case, he said, was that in which people were injured on the New Brighton Road. 6o that certainly more would be heard of it. Senior-Sergeant Matthieson objected to a remand. Mr.;Hunt:.l consider I am perfectly justified in asking for a remand. Not only do I want to ,see this man, but I want to .view the spot Senior. Sergeant Matthieson: There will be quite a number of informations against this man. Mr. Hunt: That is not a reason for objecting. \ Senior Sergeant Matthieson: Y<3u hold your,tongue. I am speaking now, and I didn't interrupt you.. Mr. Hunt: I object, your Worship. Mr. Alpers (who had sprung up' almost white with indignation): Sod, sir! As a member of tho Bar - I enter my protest against a policeman speaking m this manner to a member of the profession.
