Tho New South Wales Farmers' Conference passed resolutions in favour of compulsory enrolment, preferential voting, restoration of tho postal vote", and an elective Legislative Council. ' ■ Mr. Holman, Premier, declined an invitation to attend the Farmers' Conference on the ground that the entrance of the Farmers' Association into party polities precluded Ministerial attendance. ! A warm debate took place over tho non-invitation of Mr. Wade, Leader of the Opposition, to attend. The delegates characterised this as base ingratitude- and a deliberate insult Tho conference resolved not to ally itself with any political organisation.
