BLOWN UP BY GELIGNITE. Eltham, July 16. Albert Henry Johnston, aged 39 years, working on a Government roading contract at Omoanai was blown up by a gelignite blasting charge on Tuesday, and succumbed to-day to shock. INQUIRY INTO MOTOR FATALITY. Pahiatua, July 16. At the inquest on Frank Charles Koy, a traveller for Messrs. Ileid and Gray, who was fatally injured in a .motorcycle accident at Mangatainoka, one witness thought deceased was travelling at a .rate of 25 to 30 miles an hour. The machine seemed to wolble. Other evidence showed that the road was clear, but greasy. The machine probably skidded and deceased'was thrown several feet and injured internally. Ho also suffered considerably from shock. A verdict of accidental death was returned. MOTORING ACCIDENT. By Teloeraph.—Special ConesDoniieiit.. Masterton, July 16. A serious accident occurred at Mmterton on the Carterton Road this evening. A man named Bolton was riding oil his bicycle from die freezing works at Waingawa when a motor-car, driven by Mr. Frank Feist, of Carterton, crashed into him. The man was pitched through the wind screen of tie car, and sustained a had fracture of the leg, together with severe injuries to his head and facc. Ho has been admitted to the Hospital.
