A gas inspector forced his way into a house at Oran, and found the bodies of Captain Gouze, of tho Foreign Legion, his wife, and three children. All had been shot in the same room. A note found on tho table read:—"ln a dream _ I saw my wife and children on the point of being captured in \Morocco. I woke, and the horrible deed was done. Pray for us." Beside the captain was a rovolver, five chambers of which had been emptied.
