At the inquest regarding the death of Gertie M'Alister, who was fcirnd shot dead m tho kitchen on M'Bean's station near Yass, the girl's father gave evidence. He said his daughter had no lovers and no enemies. Mr. Bean stated that he saw the deceased alive at 6.30 and that at 8.30 he had heard two gunshot reports. Ho rushed to the'kitchen and found tlio girl'lying on the floor lifeless. The .doctors are of opinion that tlio shots wero fired from tho back, and that' it is impossible they could have been self-inflicted. It !s believed the girl was murdered. There are no clues. The inquest was adjourned. ' THE GIRL DECEIVED ME. (Rec. July 16, 10.35 p.m.) Sydnßy, July 16. 'A piece of paper found near tho body had these words written thereon: "No one in this house is to blame. The girl deceived me." Tho police anticipate making an early arrest.
