/ TOWN HALL" DEMONSTRATION. • A .canons.*'and interested' crowd of people packed the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall last evening. to witness 'a demo nstratjon'' 6f» th'e'-;' •Veedee l V■ brator.' ; As was. explained at the meeting the "Veedee" is a little hand-workr ed'non-electric instrument.; made for tho purpose,'of producing the exact counterpart of_ hand. massage except that it accomplishes, its object much more expeditiously and without the tedium, loss of time, and expense consequent on tho .employment of a masseur or masseuse. In 'opening the proceedings Mr. A B. Scott, manager of the Veedee's Australian tour, briefly explained what the object of tho demonstration was. A number of lantern slides were then projected, on tho screen descriptive of port-raits-.of, and testimonials from, ' the -many ,prominent people using the "Veedee." ; This number included a large percentage of . the royalty, and such yell-known names as Madame Melba, Miss Ellen Terry.- and Lord Roberts. . Professor W. T. Wrieht, the Weedee" oxoort and- specialist, followed with -a'.'lwjkiire in' which he explained tlie properties of the "Veedee." Chief among; the troubles for which! it was claimed,' it was so useful, were rheumatism, gout-, sciatica, rheumatoid, arthritis, lumbago, and deafness. The , "Veeclua.'! {je said, was not a "cureall," and that in such iterriblo diseasos as paralysis, and locomotor ataxia, a cure in many cases was bv no means even possible. there was this much in "Veedee" vibration—if it, could not accomplish a cure it could alwavs bring relief from pai'n, could always beta the trouble and retard the progress of disease. . - In the practical, demonstration winch followed of the curative powers of the "Veodee;' ! it appeared to the lav eve as if the instrument, was.-for the time Vine at least, cnnnhle of all that was cMtnerl of' it. Professor Wright. explained, however, tlint subjerts treated, rnio'ht only find .relief temporarily; but ■if the treatment was continued a cure would result. I can ]iend down now and pick no that pnner," and the patient suited the action to tho word. -An old Irishman, a resident of Island Fnv. who ftated that he had suffered for the past three vears ivit.li rheumatism, declared, after treatment, that it was "wonderful work." Two cases nf locomotor ataxia wore then treated.
