Costa Riea and' Salvador are protesting against.the pending United StatesNicaraguan Treaty, contending that tho American object is to securo a virtual protectorate over Nicaragua, thus impairing the autonomy of other Central American States. Costa Rica has objected that its interests in connection with the route of the projected Nicaraguan Canal have not been considered, and Salvador has objected that the United States intends establishing a naval base in Fonesca Bay. • '
