' WELLINGTON CLUB. :Tiio Wellington Chess' Club .completed thirty-eight years', existence on July 1, having been founded in 1876. White, Bock,' M'Carthy, Cimino, Vamey, Dornbusch, and Cornwall. • Of these, Barnes 'has. won no tower than five Petherick tournaments, while Messrs. Tanner, "Gyles, senr., aiid Hill have each come out, first once, the last-named being the present , holder or the trophy. ' i In a ladder match, S. Gyles captured rung 7 from A. G. Fell.' An even contest is being fought for rung 13, Messrs. Hook and "JVhite each having scored one win to date. 'Mr. M'Carthy'lias challenged Mr. Tanner for rung 11 Mr. •W.
