OHRISTCHURCH CHAMPIONSHIPS. . (By Tolccrauh.—i'resG Association.) ' . Christchurch, July 11. 1 The final round of tho Christchurch Golf Club's championship was decided to-day at Shirley links,-in excellent weather, B. 13. Wood and H. E. Wright playing off ii], the afternoon. Largo numbers of spectators were present, and considerablo interest was displayed in tho proceedings. In tho first round tho two players were all square at tho turn, after even going, each registering 40. Wood won the tenth hole, with 4 to 5, but Wright succeeded in; equalising at the next with 4to 5. Even, play followed at the twelfth, but at the thirteenth Wright succeeded in :gaining the ■ lead, which ho held until the fifteenth hole, where Wood got level again; The next two were halved,' and the last hole was won by Wright'with 6 to -4, leaving him with a load of ono up at ,the eighteenth. ..Wright started off -in • tho second round with of one.up, and at the turn had increased his lead to two up. Even going -.'resulted, up to tho tenth hole', ■which was halved with 5—5. AVright won the eleventh hole with 4 to 6, and Wood the next with 3 to' 4.. . 1 At tho : thirteenth hole Wood was again successful; leaving him one down. . Tlio fourteenth hole was halved in four, and Wright won the next with 5 to 6, giving him the lead of two up. The sixteenth hoi© was halved,' but in the seventeenth Wright wen easily, thus-: winning the championship with three up. and one to play. MIRAMAR CLUB. A men's foursome was- played on Saturday afternoon , on , the Miramar Golf Club's links. .'
