Mr. Henry Knight, an bld;eettler',of. the Lower. Hutt, died-in > the Davia Street private hospital oh Wednesday last. Ihe deceased, who,was 74 years of age, was. brought out. from,: England as a child by his parents, arid has. spent practically' a lifetime: in the Hutt Valley, where- he engaged :inr pursuits. News has been received of the death at Napier on Wednesday of Mr. Robort J3uckendge, at one time a wellknown figure of Cartorten. Deceased, who w,as 69 years of age, had been ' buffering from a serious illness , for a, long time. '

His work here lias been of a highly interesting character, and from ono point of view he would hate liked,to have gone "right , through with the job." Ho had albo met a number of very charming people., and would ncror lose his great love for the picturesque side of New Zealand, iu particular the Now Zealand hush, which uas full of enchantment. .On the other hand,, ho would be glad to get back to England to renew acquaintances and friendships of other days.
