Jennings, sometime member for Taumarunui: It will bo remembered that in April, 1913, the right of Mr. Jennings to sit as a'mciriber of the Waitara Harbour Board, to which body he hud been appointed by the late' Government, was challenged by members of. the board on the' : ground that he was riot then on the Waitara Harbour Board roll. Fish sold at the City Fish Market during the three months ended June 30 realised £913 7s. 9d. Tho sales from January to June, *1914, wore to tho value of £1690 Ids. 7d., as against £665 2s. 10d. for the corresponding sis months in 1913.

The committee lecoinmended the council last night to grant authority to them to negotiate with tho Harbour Board for'the acquiring of tho necessary land for tho,extension of tho yard, and tho, recommendation was agiced to. Consequent upon the cloGing ol the leclaination tip to tho corporation, some new method must be adopted foi disposing of stieot sweepings, etc. The city engineer has repoited that it is necessaiy 'that some proper depot shall be provided whereby this material can be collected daily.' One suggestion is that it .should bo taken out to tho Lyall Bay Reci cation Grounds and deposited there for smfacing, filling holes, ebc.
