THE TOWN PLANNING BILL.
The Government does not consider that it would bo of any general 'advantage at present to convene a conference of local >bodies to cousider town plan-' ning, and 1 the Priuie Minister replied accordingly to a question by Mr. Myers m the House of Representatives yesterday. To another question by Mr. Myers, tjhe- Primo -Minister replied: "The Government has, bv amendments of the Land Act in 1912 "and 1913 considerably extended the power of control over all subdivisions outsido boroughs. Tlie Government hope to establish and maintain under tlio powers of the recent Land Acts a closer supervision of subdiusions of land, of laying out loads,'and of constitution of proper reserves than has obtained in tho past. A Town Planning Bill is now under consideration, and, if timo permits, will bo laid before Parliament'during tho piescnt session." '
