PLUNKET SOCIETY'S'CONFERENCE. Delegates from the various branches of the Plunket Society in New Zeahnd again met in conference in tho Council Chamberof. tho Town Hallyesr tcrday. Mrs. Algar Williams (Wellington) presided and in ' addition to the delegates present wero the InspectorGeneral of Hospitals'(Dr. T. H. A. Valiiitine), and Dr. -Trilby King (general president of the society). A remit from Dunedin to. the effectthat Mrs. Truby King be elected to the position of joint general president with Dr. Truby King was carried unanimously. Tho greater part of tho day's work was taken up with tho discission of the relationships of the Society to the State, and apparently the general feeling of delegates was to the effect that the functions of the society's nurses were more :of an educational ■ nature and different to those of the district nurses.
Dr. Truby King, emphasised the value of.the . work which was done in this respect by the Plunket-nurses. The discussion' upon this subject was not concluded .yesterday. ..■' ■■■:■
