(Ly T«l«r»uh.—l'rcM A«iocl*Oon.i Duncdln, July 7. A meeting of the Council of the Dominion Howlers' Association was lield tonight, when tho question of composition I'oivls came up lor consideration. A "Bussey" bowl had been cut in two and forwarded by the agents for approval. Tho council had also sent to Colonel Collins asking for a sample of the oxcellite bowl, but it was stated that apparently there had been some misunderstanding, one sample being a "Husscv." It was resolved ti> approve of the Hiissey howl, as sent by tho makers, tho sample to be retained, it being explained that a motion would bo sufficient as the rules of the association would necessitate nil such bowls being according to 'a particular sample. Tho matter of tho exccllito bowl was left to the Executivo Committee, with power to act when tho samplo arrived. The matter of having both feet on tho mat when delivering the bowl also camo up for consideration. After prolonged discussion it was resolved that a player while delivering his bowl must have a portion or tho whole of both feet on tho mat. Mr. C. 1?. Smith said that tho question now arose of the size of mats. lie sugRtstcd that tho council should take somo steps as to inviting ideas as to what was tho best mat, and the most suitably for all soils of weather and conditions. ThAv should endeavour to get a uniform mat throughout the Dominion. The council might then order an approved mat nnd provide tho same for all clubs. The council then proceeded to the consideration of the alteration of mice, the principal being tho question of howlttsting. No linality was reached, and tho meeting adjourned till July L'o.
