DOUBLE DROWNING FATALITY
PLUCKY, ATTEMPT AT RESCUE

London, July 3. A launch which had boon on a moonlight trip to Kow, when returning at three o'clock in tho morning, lurched off liatter.'ea.
Sir Denis Anson, a New Zcnlnmlcr, who recently succeeded bis uncle, Sir William Anson, Hart., fell overboard. Mitchell, a member of the orchestra, jumped overboard to the rescue. Tho tide was running strongly at the time. Count Constantino llc'nckcndorlf, a son of tho Russian Ambassador, also jumped overboard, but was carried away, and was ultimately rescued exhausted by a waterman. Sir Denis Anson and Mitchell were both drowned. Captain White, who was in charge of the launch, mvs that during somo "larking" Sir Denis Anson, who was on the bridge, announced his intention of diving into the water. lie (White) prevented him. Later some ladies "chaffed" Sir Denis about the matter, whereupon ho dived into the water. He swam a few strokes, got into difficulties, and finnlly fault. MEMBERS OF THE PARTY. (Rec.
