Sydney, July 1. _ An action brought, by the Co-opera-tive Insuranco Company, Limited, claiming £50,000 damages against tho "Sun" Newspaper Company, for alleged libel contained in an article .published in tho ; financial columns commenting on the Co-bperativo Company's annual report and the : issue, of a prospectus dealing with » proposed increase of capital, has concluded. Plaintiffs claimed that the comments rheant that the company ■ innvo ' refrained from placing before tho public the true facts of the financial position, and sought to obtain neiv'eapital. by the improper concealment of material' facts • ■,' ■ Mr. Justice Sly concluded a lone sum-kming-up on'fair and-unfair criticism with words, and said that if tho jury found that, tho "Sun's" comment .was fair aud bon'a fide comment, tho verdict should be for tho defendants. The jury returned a verdict for tho defendants.
