AVillioms, an elderly widower, - who followed tho occupatiorf of bookkeeper, suddenly collapsed whilo at dinner at tho Trpcadero to-day, and expired in a few minutes. Deceased had riot enjoyed robust;'health, and had been under treatment at the local-hos-pital as tho result of injuries sustained in being t knocked down ' by a . trap. Heart failure is believed. to have been; tho cause of death'. The deceased came from Melbourne soveral years ago. His relatives recently left hero for Melbourne ' : SUICIDE AT LYTTELTON. . Christchurchy July 3. . A lad, whilst ongaued in shepherding on the hilltops above Rapaki Pa, Hear Lyttelton, this .afternoon, discovered the body of a man suspended by .nbout 4ft.' of ropo from the root of a tree, overhanping a disused quarry.. Tho man appeared to bo. about middle-aged,' and was dressed in a brown suit. Ho appeared to have'climbed'tho guany, .tiod tho rone to a tree, and jumped over tho cliff. A man named William Mitchell; .33 years of age, married, and a resident of Taoroa, committed suicide with'a razor early this morning.
