NOXIOUS WEEDS ACT
The following remit from Nelson will be dealt with by tho Municipal Association- Conference, which opens in "Wellinfiton on July 14: —"That tho Noxious Weeds Act ho amended so as to givo local authorities power to compel the eradication of noxious weeds growing in their districts. This pbwoV is at present vested in Government inspectors, but it is impossible for them to properly carry out tho powers vested in them, and.it is considered that such:powers should be vested in tho local authority."
