•A resident of Pahiatua has lately invented ah improved vat gate for drawing whey from cheese vats and cream vats. The paterft is a great improvement over the contrivance at present in' use at dairy factories, which, when it leaks, is useless. It can be taken to picccs in an instant for cleaning purposes, ■ and is certain of action. Ihe patent attracted a good deal of attention from dairymen' at tho recent Isational Dairy Show. Orders for his whey and skim-milk weighers have been received recently from Manawatu and Nelson'dairy companies. He has also been invited by the Isew Zealand Executive Committee of the Panama-Pacific Universal Exposition to be hold at San Francisco next year, to exhibit his skim-milk and whey-weighers at the Exhibition.
