• THE £10,008 PROPOSAL MORE INFORMATION WANTED. The question of improving Oriental Bay came before the City fjoiusei'l last night, when Councillor W. H. P. Earlier moved: "That the resolution of the council passed on Slay 25, deleting {ram tho loan schedule the amount of £10,000 for improvements at Oriental Bay. should ':a rescinded, and that the amount be included in tne solwlale to be submitted to the ratepayers." Councillor G. Frost, who seconded the motion,, described Oriental Bay as- the promenade of Wellington, ami a locality which got m«« sunshine than any othpr part of the City. It should not bo left as a place where rubbish floated in from the harbour and stranded on its shore. Councillor T. C. A. Hislop moved a& an amendment that the question should be referred back to the Flnanco Committee for further report. Councillor A. 11. Hinctmafsh seconded this.
