In the Park Steeplechase, Waterworks foil, at the brush the second time round, bringing down Daylight Bill. All started in tho opening event, and tho first four on tho card were well supported, Bodenliam and Ranfurly currying the same.total. At the start lark,was left, and Janitor jumped off in trout of Bodenliam and I'lirsufillor. Janitor was done with at the straight entrance, and Bodenliam came en with 1 ursefiller, whilo Rigo Park could To seen trying to get through on the .rails. Iho big weight told on Pursefiller, and bodenliam won by a length, while Ranfurly, who cama fast, was only a neck behind Pursefiller. Rigo Park was fourth. The running of one candidate in this raco gave rise to suspicion, but it was not questioned. Bracken and Xcapuki finished up equal favourites in the Hack Hurdles, but both finished out of a place. At the start A r i and .Bracken gave trouble, but all left on fairly even terms. A'i showed the way from Bracken as they raced past the stand,, but tho latter was running down his fences, and lost his position. Chatmos joined Vi at the six furlongs, but tired at tho half mile, and the mare was itft in, charge. Matawerewere took off at the last fence, with A r i, but the latter had too much pace, and won by a couple of lengths. Hereford, a rank outsider, was third and Chatmos next. The two last-named should be heard of again. Portraiture (Oliver) and Mount Victoria (Reed) divided favouritism in the AVinter Oats, and after a lucky run on the fence tho former won. Mount Arioloria, Amber and AVhite,' anil Settler and J/isten entered the straight in a line, with the favourite handy. Mount Victoria, on whom Reed had lost his irons, then ran wide and carried . the others out. This gave the raco to the favourite. She won by a couple of lengths. Negative just headed Listen for third place.

Sir Lethe was made a hot order in the Park Steeplechase, and, giving his usual exhibition of jumping, he was in front throughout, and won by a chain. Waterworks, the second favourite, wont very well for a mile; when he commenced to chance his fences, and came down, and Daylight Bill fell over him, while the accident pulled up Paremata, who was going .well. Cousin Jack then van into second piace, and beat Paremata by a chain. Leolantcr and Morihiko also finished woll back as did Kelp. Gondolier was pulled up at tho bottom of the course.- leolanter was nearly' down at the stand doublo the second time round Or ho would have been in a place. Bonny and Master Jlalachi were the machine favourites in. the Hunt_ Club Steeples. The former won by a big margin, but tho way was cleared for him by Master- Mnlachi running off after going half a mile; Lady Bibbero was a poor sscqnd, just clear of Defeat. Kiwitea foil at the double tho first time round, and Jessamino fell at tho last fence. Uncle Jim''was pulled up.

Grey Kin»: was at a very short price in tho Hurdles, and ho gave a good display of galloping, but jumped badly. Ho was last to leavo tho mark, but was in front at;the first fence and wasJiiot again headed.", 'Ho hit several of. his fence,3 badly, but jiis pace stood to.,him. If entered for the National he'is likely.to bo a much-sought-after horse. Sam Pan and Freak, place-getters yesterday, filled tho positions to-day. _ Cloudy JJawn was fourth, and Idealism was tailed off the whole way.;

Backers made a bad'break in the Newstead Hack Handicap, which was the concluding'event. A hot favourite was made of Amity, Who' hKil the services of Oliver, but he could not get a place. At the start The Sumiitit .and Sir Alba led from Perhaps and Microbe. The Summit easily held his own throughout, and won without being extended. Andraea, after appearing to have no chance, finished on well, and-got second .place, a neck in front of. Sir Alba. Microbe was fourth. "• - . THE RESULTS. v" • (By Tetcsranh.—Pre?s Association.)
