THE BROOKLYN CLUB'S RUN. . Tho Brooklyn Harriers held their weekly Han from Lower Hutt on Saturday afternoon! Notwithstanding tho rain and the cold southerly, 23 members went out by . tho 2.10 p.m. train. Mcssts. G. Bristow and 11. J. Ballantyne were tho- bares,, tho.course selected being tho best this season, over truo cr9ss-country, Tho trail was from tho .Hutt... railway station along the ' toad to Milling's, and then across the suspension bridge to the Hutt Road. From here a detour was made oVer the paddocks to Epuiii Hamlet, and, from the Hamlet,, tho 'course was in a southeasterly direction to Waiwetu, and back to the starting-joint. About 200 yards from home the whistlo sounded for tho run-in, the result being': W. Shell, l; -E. Willis, '2; P. Wilton, 3. While the pack was crossing a paddock, a cow objected, t<j the intrusion, and defied tho harriers. It is unnecessary to state' that, the* .runners wasted no time in' getting' out "of tho danger zone. The paok was controlled by the club .tain, while R., Harvey acted as pacemaker. Some, of tho members are showing splendid form.. After the ' run .members were entertained at afternoon tea by tho Misses Ballantyne and lady members of the club.- Mrs. Ballantyne presided.
