Bird (Hotel Windsor); jewellery valued at £17, th© property of Mabel Witheraw and ethers; (5) theft on June 1.8, from lira dwellinghouse of Charles Aldl-idgo (lintel CficiJJ, one watch, valued at £4, the property of Hose Devlin. On the application of Chief Detcctivo Broberg, accused was remanded to appear on June 24. No application for biil was made. UNUSUAL CHARGE. ■ '■ John Johnston was charged with. desertion from the Police Force at Oamaru. Chief Detective Brtfberg stated that accused had been Attested 08 Friday, and a remand till Monday would he necessary. , The remand was panted, and bail war allowed in accused's own recognisance vi £90. •ALLEGED HOL^I'kBREAKING.
