Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly sale, held yesterday, ih this. Levin Yards. .They ottered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Owing to the Palmcreton Show there was not such a good attendance aa at late sales. Competition was very keen, especially for forward store cows, and we disposed .of the bulk of our entry under the hammer and privately by the close of the eale. Quotations as under:—Fat wethers, to 225.: fat ewes, 17e. 4d.; cwea in lamb, 15s. 3d.. 175., 17s. 9d., lambs. 6s. 3d.; store •wethers. 18s. 4d.: wcaners, 205., 255.; empty cows, £4 8s„ £4 11a; etore cows, £3 75.. £4 16?.; heifers,' £3; poor store cows. £2 lis.; fat bullocks. £8 10ft.; fat cows, £5 95., £5" 145., £5 18s., £6; springing cows,-£7 7a. bd.; heifers, £5 10s. The New Zealand Loan and _ Mercantile Agency Co. Teoort:—At our Levin, sale yesterday we submitted a small yarding of sheep and good entrv of cattle. We quote: —Old owes, to 9s. 2d.; yearling heifers. £2 3s. to £2 9s. 6d.;. steers, £2 7s. Cd.; -store eows, £3 to £4 10s. 6d.; fat cows. £5 to -£6 Is. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Bidding wao splendid throughout the sale, and almost a total clearance wag ■ made under the hammer at the following rates:—4, 6, and e.m. ewes, in lamb to Leicester rams, £1 2s. '' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—At Solway on Wednesday, we had a very fair entry of sheep Competition was fairly kesn, and with the exception of one pen we made a total clearance:—Light tot ewes made 17s. Bd.; forward empty ewes. 15s. 7<K; f.m. ewes in lamb. 18s. 6d.; B.F. lambs. 13a Id.; cull lambs, So. Id. to Bs. lid. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Apiti, On Tuesday, owing to the rough weather, stock did not, come forward according to advertised numbers. Sheep wore in good demand, and sold well. Quotations:—Sheen: Medium lambs, 15s. -10d.; fair lambs, 15s. Id.; mixed age ewes in lamb. 235.; forward Vcthcr*'. 21a lOd. . Cattle: Stare cows, £3 Is. to £i 25.: 2fl-months Hereford hcifeM, £5; rows in calf, £4 Is.; Jersey steers, £2 7s. 6d.
