The South Canterbury boxing contests to select representatives tor tho Now Zealand championships resulted as under ■:— Heavy-weight: P. Manning (Ashburton) beat A. Hooko (Timaru); Havoll (Christchurch) beat D. Manning (Ashburton). Light-weight; J.Stewart (Timaru) beat F.' David (Timaru), knocking him out in the first round; J. Stewart (Timaru) beat W. Alexander (Ashburton). Bantam-weight: Wi' Gunn (Timaru) boat V. Kerr (Christchurch). Foather-woight: J. Collins (Timaru) bea.t W. Terris (Ashburton), on a knockout in tho second round; J. Digby (Ashburton) boat J. Collins (Timaru)*. Tho latter took thf> count. Welterweight: T. Segiir (Timaru) beat W. Pugh (Ashburton). Middle-weight: A. Clarko (Timaru) beat M. Tagney (Otaio); P. Manning (Ashburton) beat A. Clark (Timaru). W. Gunn got, a 6pecial prize as the most scientific boxer. SOUTHLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. InvercargHl, June 19. The finals of the championships an the Southland Boxing Association's tournament to-night resulted as under:— Bantam: P: O'Farrell (Dunedin) beat J. O'Shea (Invercargill). Featherweight: W. O'Farrell (Durtodin) heat M'Gregor (Dunedin). Welter-weight: W. Styles (Invereargill) beat K. Olsen (Bluff). Light-weight—M. T. Neylor (Invercargill) beat M. Donovan (Invercargill). Middle-weight: J. Welsh ttnvercargill) beat W. Styles (Invercargill).
